These records were created by the State Fire Marshal in the day to day operations of the department. Included are annual reports of the department for fiscal years 1923 and 1926, opinions from the Attorney General's office requested by the Fire Marshal, monthly reports listing the number of fire alarms for the city of Montgomery in 1917, pamphlets on fire equipment, summons, complaints, receipts, and invoices. Some of these records were created when the State Fire Marshal was under the director of the Commissioner of Insurance (1915-1919) and the Secretary of State (before 1915).
